Recently a client called me and asked, “How do I download a video from of Facebook so that I can upload it again someplace else?” The answer to me seemed pretty obvious – just right click and choose “save” – right?
If you simply right click a video on Facebook and choose to “save as” you won’t actually be downloading the file and your goal of successfully downloading a video from Facebook won’t be met.
Here’s how to easily download a video from Facebook as a video file.
Step 1: Navigate to the video you want to download.
Step 2: Bring your mouse to the web address bar and change the URL from “www.” to “m.” – for example, if the address was www.facebook.com/davidapride change it to m.facebook.com/davidapride – this will convert the page into a mobile format – so you can download the video from Facebook.
Step 3: Click “Play” – if you do not click play, the rest of these steps will NOT work.
Sept 3: While the video is playing right click the video and select “Save as” and save where you’d like to retrieve the video later.
Step 4: You’re done! It’s pretty easy – just need to know the tricks.
